The Department of Electrical Engineering descends from the Department of Electronic Engineering, which was founded in 2003. The Master’s Degree Program was established in 2007.
The research specialization in the Department of Electronic Engineering includes three areas:
(1) Communication and System Application;
(2) Solid state and integrated circuit.
1. Communication and signal processing: the research and teaching are focused on digital signal processing, digital image processing, communication system engineering, digital communication system, app programming design.
2. IC design: the research and teaching are focused on FPGA system design, the analog IC design and simulation, Advanced Analog IC Layout Design and Laboratory, Simulation and design of radio frequency integrated circuits, the researches and teaching are focused on the Solid-State Analysis, New Energy Technologies, Recyclable Thin-Film Technologies.
The laboratory in the Department of Electrical Engineering includes:
(1)Lab. of nanocrystal and thin Film;
(2) Lab. green energy and IC assembly;
(3)Lab. of RF and analog IC design;
(4) Lab. of project study;
(5) Lab. of electronic circuit;
(6) Lab. of embedded system and robotics;
(7) Lab. of smart handset software design;
(8)Fundamental Lab. of communication engineering;
(9)Lab. of spread spectrum communication;
(10) Lab. of software and simulation;
(11)Lab. of pattern recognition;
(12) Lab. of high-speed arithemetric. Features of this department:
1. The robot and single-chip competitions of this department have won numerous awards, which will increase future employment and higher education opportunities.
2. This department has signed corporate internships with companies such as KYEC, UMC, UMC(Xiamen), Compal Computer, etc. Many students become regular employees after the internship.
3. This department has been accredited by Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) with fulfilling Washington, Soul, and Sydney Accords. The degree and grade granted by the department are accepted internationally.
